Home About... Prishtina

Prishtina is the Capital of the world's newest country in a state of flux. It is located at the north-east edge of the Kosovo plain in the centre of Kosovo. It is a crossroad of significant international routes, for the intersection of arterial roads connecting the Western and Eastern Europe with the near East.

Prishtina is the economic, cultural, political, and administrative centre of Kosovo. It is also the most significant high education center. Not very far from Prishtina, situated in the southeast of the city, the great antique town of Ulpiana, the center of the Illyrian Dardania, the ancient precursor state of Kosovo, was founded in the beginning of the second century AD.

Nowadays Prishtina is set for many changes as Kosovo starts shaking off its recent history and moving on to repair its economy and infrastructure, but there you can find a lot of interesting cultural and historic sights, including Illyrian, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and other cultures, to keep you busy, some very good restaurants and bars and last but not least there's the friendliness and curiosity of the local population.

People from Prishtina are creative, dynamic and forward-looking - the friendly, open and positive vibe is infectious, and nationals live peacefully alongside a notable international community.
