About Kosovo

As one of the newest countries in Europe, having declared independence in 17th February 2008, Kosovo is now generally considered a safe place to visit. With the majority of its population under the age of 35, it is a young and vibrant country, where English is one of three official languages.

Its cultural heritage, accumulated and protected through centuries, various monuments originating from different cultures coexist. Even though it is located in Europe, Kosova has some distinguishing cultural specifics which do not match with European culture, making it for the Europeans more interesting place to visit.

The influx of foreigners has brought with it a few excellent choices, but even the places frequented by the locals are better than many you'll find in some of the bigger Balkan cities. This is basically down to Albanian hospitality, which is, in short, second to none.
